That Magic Moment… So Much Shifting Energy

May 26, 2025 by Janice Masters Leave a Comment

Have you ever felt so detached from your natural inner messages that you honestly have no idea what you want to do in a particular moment?

Information overload—on any front—can do this to us. It can rob us of our innate knowing. And I wouldn’t be surprised if you’re feeling a bit overloaded these days. Most of us are…

I had a moment like that recently. I truly didn’t know if I wanted to eat or fast, exercise or meditate. I’m usually not a person filled with confusion, so it caught me completely off guard.

Then I realized—this is what a shift feels like: stepping out of an old iteration of myself and into a new one.

I always tell my clients: transitions are notoriously tricky, not because we’re doing something wrong, but because we’ve lost our grip on what was, and we haven’t yet grasped what is to come. We’re in that in-between space—like Wile E. Coyote, suspended mid-air over the canyon, wide-eyed and uncertain.

Thankfully, I’ve been through enough transitions to recognize the feeling quickly—without spiraling, and without making it mean something is wrong. And goodness knows, I’ve helped thousands of clients through their transitions… from the monumental to the momentary.

Once I quieted my mind and named what was happening, I tuned in. I decided to eat an orange, meditate, and then take a drive to walk by the Bay. Simple. Easy. Natural. Pleasing.

All it took was pausing—tuning in, letting go of the “Oh my God, I don’t know what to do!” energy—and settling gently into “I don’t know… and that’s OK.”
And the moment I allowed that… guess what? A little spark of knowing started to glow.
And then—it grew.

We humans are always evolving. Always changing, growing, expanding—becoming the next version of ourselves.

So, don’t hold too tightly to the current one. Hold her loosely, and welcome change.

Are you in a transition right now?

If so, take a breath.

If not—just wait. You will be.

I promised you another way to access your innate wisdom without having a pendulum handy—so here it is.

Simply make a circle with both your left and right thumb and index finger. Now interlock them so they form two connected rings. Got it?

Next, ask your question just as you would if you had a pendulum in your hand. While you’re asking—or immediately afterward—pull hard, as though you’re trying to break the two rings apart.

  • If your fingers hold, the answer is “yes.”

  • If your fingers release and break apart, the answer is “no.”

It’s as simple as that.

As I mentioned before when using this form of intuitive knowing, start by asking a few questions you already know the answers to. That helps you build trust in the process.

Check it out and start using it! It’s so cool, so easy, so handy. I’ve even used it at a stoplight. 😂

You don’t need anything except your two hands. 😁😉

Let me know how it goes!
