Inspiration for all INDY Women!!
I don’t think I’ve ever started a blog post with a poem before, but this one is just too perfect to not share again and again. Read it, and then read it aloud to yourself and see how it feels to take in these words.
It’s not too late… the angel said.
Even though the world’s a mess…
Even though you’re not as young…
Even though you’ve made mistakes and have been afraid
It’s not too late…
And then I saw the world through the angels’ eyes…
I saw the colors I could paint
The bridges I could build
The lives that I could touch
The dreams that could still come true
And it became very clear to me…
That it’s not too late.
~Ron Atchison
I just emailed this to a client because of the session I had with her this morning. This poem addresses all of her ‘yeah, buts…’ and then some. It reached to the heart of the matter. And that heart is that if we still have dreams and hopes and wishes, even if they are vague and formless right now, then it’s not too late.
The hallmark of an INDY Woman is that longing, that yearning, that desire for more and better and deeper and more meaningful and juicier and …and….and…. You get it. I know you get it. I know I do! As the poem says, it’s very clear to me.
Here’s something I posed on Facebook recently after an extremely challenging yoga class that kicked my butt SO HARD! It was my second yoga class in oh, probably 25 years. And don’t forget, I’m 68. J
“For personal growth and expansion, I highly recommend starting to do something you are not good at. Check your ego at the door. Give it your best effort. Feel pride in your effort. Keep coming back.
This is me with painting…and now yoga. In true INDY Woman style, I’m. Not. Done. Yet! and am so jazzed and buzzed about my new ventures!!
What’s calling YOUR NAME, you INDY Woman, you?”
I want you to keep asking yourself that question, what’s calling YOUR NAME? That’s all.
