How often do your dreams bring a powerful message and you don’t pay attention…not really?
I have recently dreamed twice now, of a hummingbird the size of a hawk, flying through the trees in back of my house. And then I dreamed last night of having bodywork done with a male healer, and a ton of strong and painful emotion surfacing. I journal my dreams, I pay attention to them, I keep asking about meaning and purpose, and I THANK them for bringing me messages from my subconscious mind.
Over decades, I have learned and come to understand the language of my dreams, and I am passionately interested and fascinated by them. Lately, the veil between dream-state and wake-state seems to be thinning, and that can be like watching a movie which you understand as it unfolds.
Powerful stuff, not to be taken lightly. My shamanic spiritual path relies a great deal on dreams, and walking between the dream and waking worlds to access and carry messages for practical application to LIFE! This is not just playing with images, story, metaphors, fantasy. This is the SELF coming forth into consciousness to invite further evolution into BEING that unique and precious SELF.
Invite, honor, cherish, and take good notes on your dreams. Mindfulness of your deams will change your waking life!
If you have chosen to be on a path of conscious spiritual evolution, you would do well to fall in love with your dreams and your dreaming self! I have!
I would love you to share your comments below! Thanks!

This is a beautiful post and love the piece “Lately, the veil between dream-state and wake-state seems to be thinning, and that can be like watching a movie which you understand as it unfolds” I’m currently going through a period of very deep sleep with no recollection of my dream is a new experience. Its Ok I daydream the day so get to enter that way 🙂

Thanks for this Mary Joyce…I have gone through periods like that too..no recollection of dreams…And then in meditation I’ll go deep and have all kinds of activity…kind of the daydream. So varied and rich!! ~Jan

Often I dream with two minds – the participant and the observer. As the observer I recognize patterns, control dreams and know which dreams to tag with i.m.p.o.r.t.a.n.t! LOL – have been accumulating quite a dictionary of my own as to what aliens, elevators, previous employers and bathrooms mean. Totally agree dreams hold messages well worth paying attention to.

Lorraine, I know what you mean about the two minds. Some dreams are lucid and we are aware we’re dreaming and can even direct the dream. I love what you said about the ‘dictionary’ and have taken note of the meanings of things/people/situations in my own dreams. 40+ years of paying attention and learning how to interpret them myself has been such a rewarding process!! Thanks for sharing your thought about your dream experiences and your mindfulness about them! ~Jan xo

Lorraine, that sounds like lucid dreaming! Such a potent process for consciousness and personal growth and evolution. And I agree with you, I’m a firm believer in deciding what the symbols in our dreams mean and not using a “cookie cutter” approach to those meanings! Thanks so much for sharing! ~Jan
