PROXIMITY & FIT WHEN CHOOSING AN INTUITIVE COACH
“It’s almost always better to learn from peers who are 2 years ahead of you than mentors who are 20 years ahead of you.
Life evolves and most insights get outdated.” ~James Clear, Atomic Habits
This echoes what I have always said for many years: that my perfect clients are those
who are only a couple of rungs below me on the ladder of personal growth and spiritual expansion.
If I’m too far up the ladder, I can’t reach back and help them. And what I try to teach them sounds like foolishness to them.
If I’m too far down the ladder then I have nothing to teach them. We’re either in the same place or they’re actually ahead of me.
There is an optimal distance between us wherein exactly what I have is exactly what they need at exactly that point in time.
That’s when the very best healing & personal growth work gets done.
There actually is another space where I’m a little farther ahead of them than a couple of rungs on the ladder, but I can gently invite them to new thoughts and new concepts and new possibilities that prepare them to receive what I can teach them, show them, and lead them to.
Essentially I invite them to step up 1 or 2 rungs so we get into that optimal distance space.
Essentially I invite them to step up 1 or 2 rungs so we get into that optimal distance space.
There is a definite warm resonance between me and my perfect clients because of how close we are in consciousness, nature, and life experiences.
It doesn’t feel to them like I’m up in an ivory tower, and it doesn’t feel to me like they’re just not ready.
Clients I work with these days range anywhere from 26 to 70 years of age, so you see it’s all about consciousness and readiness/timing.
Every one of them is perfect in terms of the consciousness distance between us, and what they are wanting from me, and what I am able to offer to them.
Trust yourself when choosing a therapist or coach.
You know how you want the relationship to feel.
Don’t settle for anything less than that.
Love,
