THE EMPATH’S RANT-PRAYER

What if I don’t care what anybody else wants from me.
What if I am who I am
What if who I am is fine
What if I am no one else’s idea of who I should be
What if guilt is toxic for me
What if guilt is poison for me
What if guilt and shame keep me suffering
What if I need to get pissed off about the level of guilt I feel for not meeting other people’s expectations
What if I need to stay angry for a while to break this pattern
What if nobody makes the rules about who I need to be
What if I am who I am and I am enough
What if I am angry that I have tried to turn myself inside out to meet other people’s expectations
What if I am angry about the fact that I have made myself suffer for not meeting their expectations of me
What if I am angry at the way I have been mean to myself because I have not met other people’s expectations
What if I am done with this
What if I want to be reminded that I am done with this
What if I am ready to be kind to myself, to be honest with myself, and to let everyone else live their lives and deal with who I am…or not
What if I am perfectly imperfect me.
