I did something at midday today that’s such a great metaphor for clearing stuff and letting it go.
What I tackled was a top freezer in a refrigerator we keep in our garage for storage, but that freezer had gotten so packed with stuff, you couldn’t slide another thing in there, and that’s ridiculous.
So I decided yesterday that I was going to go through the freezer and get rid of everything that was too old, no longer wanted, or for various other reasons, needed to be discarded.
What I ended up with was 2 garbage bags full of stuff to throw out. How ridiculous is that!? I mean, why was that stuff in there, for heaven’s sake?
Stuff was in there because it had been put in there and then forgotten about. And maybe it wasn’t something that we were gonna use in the first place. And the other possibility is that the freezer just got so stuffed that you really couldn’t see what was in there, so you couldn’t possibly know if something was in there that you wanted… so you could actually use it.
I’m including pictures of the 2 garbage bags and the now-cleared-out, orderly freezer.
And, of course, since I am who I am, I want to draw an analogy to what’s going on inside of us. No kidding!
I mean, think about it…how much stuff do we stash away on many different levels of our inner beings? And then we just leave it there. We forget about it, we don’t deal with it. We don’t heal it, we don’t choose to let it go. We don’t affirm it and make it a positive part of our lives.
The food is such a good analogy. You’re gonna use it and enjoy the meal. Or you’re gonna throw it away because it doesn’t even appeal to you anymore. Or it’s gonna get used in a timely fashion that serves you really well.
I know you can see how this applies to thoughts and emotions and experiences that we store in our inner beings. And then we wonder why we feel a certain way, or we have a headache, or something unpleasant occurs unexpectedly.
Now, I know somebody who would really appreciate this article, and the fact that I cleaned out the freezer and let go of the clutter. And that is my dear…my very dear, late friend Joan Silva, who was honestly the Queen of “Clear Your Clutter People!!” She taught us so much about the value of clearing what is no longer valuable to us….both inner and outer.
So I offer this small freezer clearing as an homage to my wonderful clutter-clearing friend, who taught so many of us the value of clearing clutter, not just on the outside but the inside. Here’s to you, dearest Joan. 💗
Let’s carry on her wonderful legacy and go through our homes, and also our inner selves because it’s never just about the outer. It’s about the inner too.
We humans are energetic beings, and so what affects us on the inside affects us outside. And what affects us on the outside affects us inside too. That’s just the way it is.
And that’s where I come in. I’m an expert therapist, counselor, and coach with over four decades of experience helping people to clear the inner clutter so they can let their gorgeous inner light shine for themselves… and the world.
Now, if this is an area that speaks to you, and you could use some guidance and support on how to clear both inner and outer energies so you can be your best self and live your best life, then give me a call and let’s set up a session.
Thank you so much for being here.
I’m sending you love and warm blessings,
Janice Masters,
The Shaman Mama
