Continuing to sort though my mountain of old photos, I realize how many of my stories reside in them. Our stories, our histories, are so precious. They contain the gems, the seeds, the fruits of who we were, who we are, who we might be. And through the photos we get to see our own and others’ stunning evolution through a lifetime.
When I viewed them as simply a pile of material stuff to deal with, and get out of my way, I avoided them like the proverbial plague. But when I approached them with love and a desire to sift and sort and cherish and discard, I became fully, lovingly, joyfully engaged.
What are you avoiding that you might engage with from a totally different angle, mindset, perspective? Avoidance is no fun at all, and the longer it goes on, the more of a burden it can become.
