I was grocery shopping today and I was looking for the right salad dressing, and there was a couple right there in the same place in the aisle. I’m thinking they were in their 90s.
The gentleman had white hair and was sitting in a walker. The woman had newly-dyed very black hair. She was hunched over and she was perusing the salad dressings too, and they were having such a cute conversation. At one point, he said something to her and he called her kid.. Like, “Hey, don’t spend too much time looking for the right one, kid”. I loved that so much. They were fabulously fantastic.. to me!! It’s not overstating to say that I actually felt blessed by their presence… Kinda because they were so light and happy and present for each other in that salad dressing aisle.
Pay attention to the next thing, or person, or experience you feel blessed by. Let’s not take it for granted.
In my heart I made a really big deal out of it. I loved the little back and forth chit chat we had about salad dressings…and we all agreed that the best salad dressing is always just olive oil and wine vinegar.
To be honest, I don’t usually have conversations…maybe we exchange a phrase, a look or a word with people. But not usually a conversation like this… because they were stopped. He was seated, and she was perusing, and I was perusing too. There was an opportunity for us to actually connect human to human.
Wishing you a radically happy day!!😊😉
